Young Leeds Carnegie player Max Lewis was one of 43 students who were awarded prestigious sports scholarships by Leeds Metropolitan University at a dinner held in the Lewis Jones Suite in the Carnegie Stand on Tuesday night.
The aim of the scheme is to give scholarship holders the opportunity to develop their sporting performance alongside the pursuit of academic studies. This aim will be achieved by providing technical and financial support. In addition each scholar will be allocated to a sports mentor. The mentor will liaise with academic tutors to ensure that satisfactory progress is being maintained. Scholars are awarded up to £2000 per year subject to academic and sporting progress.Click here for further details.
