Leeds Director of Rugby Stuart Lancaster said his side were hugely disappointed to lose 66-7 at Saracens and believes his side were made to suffer for the Ospreys defeat last week.
"I thought Saracens were outstanding," he said. "I suspected there would be a reaction from their (EDF Energy Cup semi final) defeat to Ospreys and we copped it.
"We looked like a tired side and the boys are devastated in the changing room. The result is hugely disappointing. Given the effort we've shown over the past two weeks this is a massive setback in terms of the season. The important thing for us now is to remain competitive. We've got to get over this quickly as we've got a huge challenge against Bath in the European Challenge Cup (quarter finals) next weekend.
"We had 13 players unavailable today and whilst that is not an excuse, it does put a lot of pressure on those guys who are out there. The result was certainly not for a lack of effort but it was tough for them out there," added Lancaster.
