Leeds Carnegie youngster James Murray has been named in the starting line up for Scotland under-20 team to face South Africa in the IRB Junior World Championship in Wrexham tomorrow 10th June, kick off 7pm.
Murray was a replacement in the Scotland side's opening pool match on Friday night when they were narrowly defeated by Samoa, but the young Leeds fly half has now forced his way into the starting line up, after Coach Colin Robertson announced a number of changes to his team. Speaking ahead of the game against South Africa Roberston said, "South Africa are going to provide us with a massive challenge because they are right up there as one of the favourites to win the championship. They are an outstanding side; there is no doubt about that. However our guys are looking forward to the challenge and it is a great opportunity for them.
It is not that often Scottish players get a chance to play against South Africa. From that point of view, the players view this game as being a milestone and they are excited about it. The players are all completely committed to going out there and giving it a real crack. One of our aims was to play everybody over the first couple of games. That was our strategy for the tournament. After this match, all of our players will have had a considerable amount of game-time which enables us to look at our options for the third game against the USA."
