Director of Rugby Andy Key and Head Coach Neil Back were on hand on Monday night at West Park Leeds to see the A team game against Bristol and Key said he was pleased with how the game went.
Leeds scored five tries in their 35-26 victory to get the Guinness A League season off the mark and there was some fine performances. Henry Paul played the full eighty minutes in his first appearance for Leeds whilst Kearnan Myall played in the first half on his come back from injury. Winger Jon Goodridge signalled his return with two tries whilst Adam Greendale led the side well at fly half.
Commenting after the game Key said, "It was a good win for us and a pleasing performance. It was good to see the guys who are coming back from injury come through with no side effects and it was encouraging to see the form of some of young guys. It shows the work that Diccon Edwards and his team are doing in the Academy is producing real quality and anyone who was here tonight would have enjoyed what they saw."
