In this weeks edition of Carnegie Call Director of Rugby Stuart Lancaster looks ahead to his side's final game of the season against London Wasps this Saturday at Headingley Carnegie, kick off 3pm
HOW DO YOU REFLECT ON LAST WEEKS RESULT?
Last week was a frustrating end result given the fact that we have got ourselves back in to a position at 24-20 when we could have won the game. However, crucial decisions and technical execution around the hour mark changed the course of the game and resulted in a disappointing final scoreline. Unfortunately, this has been a repeated occurrence this season and is an area we need to address going forward. That said there were enough positives to take out of the game and leaves us plenty to take forward into the Wasps game this Saturday.
HOW BIG IS THE CHALLENGE OF TAKING ON WASPS?
Wasps is obviously a great challenge for us and we have spoken about the importance of finishing the season well in front of our own fans. It has obviously been a difficult week for all concerned but both players and coaching staff are determined to finish well and take us through in a positive frame of mind into our off and pre-season programmes.
HOW WILL YOU FEEL ON SATURDAY?
Personally, I am looking forward to the game, when I look back at some of my games for the club, both as a player and a coach, I don't think it gets any better than playing Wasps at home. I am sure however, that it will be with great sadness when I leave Headingley Carnegie for the last time on Saturday evening. I have fantastic memories of my 16 years at the club and I will be looking forward to support the club in the future either from the terraces or in anyway I can in my new position.
HOW IS YOUR TEAM SHAPING UP?
We are without a number of players again this week through injury. Fosi Pala'amo and Calum Clark have not recovered from the hamstring and back injuries respectively that ruled them out of the London Irish game whilst James Brooks and Luther Burrell picked up injuries in the game down at Reading. We had hoped that Richard Welding may have recovered in time from his ankle injury for this week but time has beaten him.
