Key hoping to unlock Leeds Carnegie potential

Andy Key, the new Leeds Carnegie Director of Rugby, is looking to hit the ground running as the aims to take his side back to the Guinness Premiership.
Key, along with new Head Coach Neil Back, were officially unveiled on Monday at a press conference at the club's training ground at Kirkstall and Key admitted the pair have been cramming up to get to know their new squad.
"I think me and Backy have seen more of each other than our own wives in the last couple of days. Since we found out that we had got the job we have been researching the squad and getting to know faces and names to make sure we could get on with things as soon as we get here.
"We obviously played against Leeds Carnegie twice last year with Leicester and we saw a lot of them in other games. There is a great work ethic and commitment to the club which is half the battle and certainly something we can build on.
"The obvious thing is for us to now sit down with the coaching staff and players and get to know everyone. I am in the fortunate position that I know a lot about National One having coached Bedford as part of my role at Leicester and I know it will be tough challenge. We certainly haven't got a soft opening with the best two teams outside Northampton last season in our first two games but that is exciting for us," added Key.
Key was questioned about the future of England Saxons star Tom Biggs and he confirmed that speaking to the winger was certainly on his priority list, he added, "Tom is a class player and we certainly want to keep him here at Leeds Carnegie. He has just got back from the England Saxons tour and I am hoping to speak to him soon. I haven't spoken to him or any of the players yet but that will be one of our first jobs to make sure they know what we are about."
