Three players from the Leeds Carnegie Academy were amongst 12 players from the North division to be selected for the two England Under 18 RU squads that will compete on the international stage during the coming months.
Following the Divisional Festival at Broadstreet RUFC last weekend, the first group of players were named by the England selectors, with another batch hoping to claim a place in the squad following a further trial game against the Midlands at Broadstreet on Sunday (December 30).
Joe Barker, who attends QUEGS in Wakefield, has been named in the squad to play in a Six Nations Tournament in Cork in April whilst Harrogate College's Craig Hampson and Joe Quinn from St Wilfred's School have been named in the squad to take part in a AER (Association of European Rugby) Tournament in Treviso, Italy in March.
The selection of 12 players for the England squads means a re-shuffle of the North team to play in a final Divisional game against the Midlands Division on Sunday (December 30, kick off 1.30pm).
The North team includes two more Leeds Carnegie players. Harry Hannan, who attends Woodhouse Grove, is in the starting line up whilst David Simmons, who goes to Prince Henry's Grammar School, is including amongst the replacements.
