Young guns fire into semi finals

Leeds Carnegie's U19 side overcame a foul night and a determined Bradford and Bingley outfit to book their place in the semi final of the Yorkshire Cup on Tuesday night.
The home side dominated from start to finish, eventually running out 32-12 winners with the back row in particular in fine form. The Leeds tries came from Chris Steel, Max Lewis, Andy Boyde and Danny Paul with Tom Whittaker kicking two penalties and three conversions to complete the scoring.
Commenting on the game Diccon Edwards, Academy Manager, said, "This is an excellent win in very difficult conditions. The score line could have been even greater if it had not been for too many unforced errors in the final third of the field but the pleasing thing was the number of chances we created and the ability to vary the style of game according to the weather.
"The back row of Andy Boyde, Danny Paul and Max Lewis were all outstanding but all across the field we were the more dominant side. We still have a number of things to work on but we are improving with each game as we need to do as the next round will be another level up from that which we have faced so far."
