Leeds Met is playing host to a top-flight delegation of Russian sporting officials today, as they hope to learn from the University's network of sporting partners and connections to major sporting events.
The visit follows the announcement last week that the UK Centre for Coaching Excellence in sport and disability sport will be based at Leeds Met.
The Russian delegates are responsible for delivering the 2014 Winter and Paralympic Games in Sochi on the Black Sea coast, and include Lyudmila Chernova, a 400 metre gold medallist at the 1980 Moscow Olympics, and head of the Department for Sport, Krasnador region.
