New Leeds Carnegie Head Coach Neil Back admits he didn't have to be asked twice when Leeds Carnegie got in touch about becoming their new head coach.
England 2003 World Cup hero Back and new director of rugby Andy Key arrived for their first day at training this morning with the aim of securing promotion back into the Guinness Premiership at the first time of asking following the club's relegation into National Division One.
Back, who won every honour in he game as a player, said: "As a developing coach, I've been looking for opportunities to have a greater influence of how the team plays over the last 18 months.
"Leeds Carnegie was one of those opportunities. The initial meeting with Gary Hetherington went well. And when I saw the infrastructure here and the connection with Leeds Met Carnegie, I didn't take much convincing. Back - technical rugby director at Tigers last term - and mentioned as a possible successor to outgoing head coach Marcelo Loffreda, said: "I felt immediately this was the right option."
