Leeds Rhinos legend Barrie McDermott will be throwing his weight behind the 'Be Your Best' rugby residential camp to be held at Barnard Castle School from Monday 11th August - Friday 15th August.  The residential rugby camp is aimed at 14 - 17 year olds who want to develop their rugby skills greatly.  The Leeds Carnegie camps is run inconjunction with Newcastle Falcons, Sale Sharks and the British Army.
Commenting on the news that McDermott would also be attending the camp, Nick Fletcher, the Leeds Carnegie Marketing Manager said, 'Our Be Your Best camps get better every year.  We are constantly looking at ways we can help the next generation of youngsters develop their skills more and more, and it is great news to hear that rugby league legend Barrie McDermott will be attending on the Tuesday of that week to look at defensive skills.  He is undoubtedly one of the greatest personalities in rugby league and it is a fantastic opportunity for any youngster to learn from one of the games greats.  With John Bentley already confirmed as helping to host the camp as well as a number of high profile appearances from Leeds Carnegie, Newcastle Falcons and Sales Sharks players through the week, this promises to be the best rugby camp event of the year.  Couple this with the fact that for the first time we are running the camp at the excellent facilities of Barnard Castle School, this should be a fantastic camp to attend for any aspiring rugby player'.
Rugby League legend Barrie McDermott won every major honour in the game during his glittering career.  With Leeds Rhinos he spent ten successful years, winning the Challenge Cup, Grand Final and the World Club Championship and remains as one of the most popular players to ever play for the club.  He also gained representative honours with Great Britain, whom he made 15 Test appearances for and Ireland who he represented a record 13 times.

The three biggest rugby powers in the North come to give you the best rugby experience of the year! Premiership Rugby Academy Camps are where you can be your best by learning from the best. How to kick like Jonny Wilkinson. How to beat a man like Tom Biggs. And how to tackle like Sebastien Chabal. Once again, we're combining the resources of Leeds Carnegie, Newcastle Falcons & Sale Sharks for an unforgettable rugby experience. You'll have access to the players, coaches and top facilities for a real rugby master class. No rugby player can afford to miss it.
This course is designed by Premiership Coaches for young players with serious rugby ambitions! You will learn all the latest techniques and skills from the very cutting edge of the game. As well as 20 hours of top quality rugby coaching, there will be over 12 hours of unique extra activities provided by the Army. Many of these will be aimed at increasing team and leadership skills.
This is a 5 day intensive programme aimed at developing good rugby players in to elite performers. It is therefore expected that players arrive on the course possessing high levels of fitness and skills

The O2 Premiership Rugby Academy is the only official camp provider to the twelve Premiership clubs. Quite simply, we have access to the players and the best coaching staff. These are coaches who are experienced in nurturing young talent like Jamie Noon, Tom Biggs, Charlie Hodgson, and Mathew Tait. Each coach has access to cutting edge equipment and will ensure that the course is fun and safe.

THE PLAYERS
Our camps are twofold. To provide participants with the opportunity to be coached by current stars and to help them delve deeper in to what it takes to reach the very top level in the game. Premiership Rugby Academies are the only camps at which the best players will be present this year.
