Vickerman comes through comeback unscathed

Leeds Carnegie star Rob Vickerman came through his comeback game last night in the A team at Rotherham and helped the side to a 27-15 victory.
Vickerman has been out for nearly two years following two successive ruptured knee ligaments however he played for 60 minutes on Monday night and was a dominant force in the game.
Tommy McGee capped an impressive night with a try after playing well in the set piece and the loose whilst James Parkes also had a good game alongside McGee. In the back row Calum Clark and Danny Paul pressed their claims for a first team call up whilst Richard Vasey controlled the game well from fly half. Vasey kicked a penalty and two conversions as well.
The other Leeds try scorers were Tom Rock, Peter Wackett and Pablo Bouza. Speaking after the game Director of Rugby Stuart Lancaster said, "I am delighted for Rob to come through the game with no side effects. It has been a long road back for him but he is stronger than ever. He will certainly play some part on Sunday when we play Saracens and we access later in the week whether that is off the bench or in the starting line up. I was very pleased with the entire squad last night, we will always looked to reward consistency in training, the A team and the first team with a place in the first team and there were several players who showed their potential at Rotherham."
