Despite three penalties from the boot of Richard Vasey England Students lost out 45-9 to their French counterparts in Tournon-sur-Rhone.
Vasey, who attends Leeds Met along with fellow international team mate Scott Armstrong, had kept England in touch at the break as they only trailed by ten points at 19-9.
Vasey will join National One side Rotherham this week on loan until the end of the season but will be available for Leeds Carnegie's remaining Guinness A League games this season and for BUSA games for Leeds Met. The loan agreement means he can be recalled by Leeds should the need arise between now and the end of the season. He is set for a baptism of fire for the South Yorkshire side as they take on league leaders Northampton next weekend.
Leeds full back Peter Wacket completed the trio of Carnegie players in action for England Students in France.
