Harewood House to host ground breaking dual code rugby festival

The Leeds Rugby Foundation will host a ground breaking rugby festival at Harewood House this summer for primary school children across Yorkshire.
The Leeds Rugby Foundation, the charitable trust who run all community work for Leeds Rhinos and Leeds Carnegie, have invited schools for West, North and East Yorkshire to take part free of charge in the Yorkshire Schools Tag Rugby Festival on Friday 4th July from 9am until 4pm.
The event will allow schools access to the Harewood House Grounds free of charge where they can take part in various exciting activities that will be on display including:
. Tag rugby display
. RFL Skill zone
. Meet Leeds Rhinos and Leeds Carnegie first team players
. Hold the Super League and Carnegie World Club Challenge trophies
. Have your picture with the Carnegie Challenger and Ronnie the Rhino
Each team will consist of 10 Year 5/6 players with each having a minimum of 3 girls. All children taking part will receive goodie bags courtesy of Leeds Rugby Foundation and Harewood House including ticket offers, team posters, FREE Blue and Amber membership and much more.
It is anticipated that there will be a huge interest in the day therefore places will be allocated on a first come first serve basis.
Commenting on the event Community Coach Gareth Cook said, "This is the biggest event of this type we have ever organised and we are expecting over 100 primary schools to attend the event. If schools would like to apply to take part they need to email me at gareth.cook@leedsrugby.com or phone 07739021673 by Friday 26th May. We will also have 80 volunteers made up of Secondary School Sports Leaders to help run the event on the day. We are very grateful to Harewood House for hosting the event and we hope this will be the first of many such events to take place for years to come."
