Leeds Carnegie Man of the Match Joe Bedford could barely contain his joy after his sides 16-15 win over Newcastle Falcons at Headingley Carnegie.
Picking up is Guinness Man of the Match award, Bedford said, "I can't really put into words how good it feels to win. We knew it was a big game for us and we have come up with the performance. I think we owed Newcastle one after they pinched a win off us earlier in the season with a late Tom May drop goal so this is definitely a sweet win. We knew we had to win but if you ask any of the boys in the dressing room if we can stay up they will all tell the same thing right now, we are definitely going to give it our best shot."
Bedford's words were echoed by his captain Stuart Hooper. "We talked before the game about there being no tomorrow and I'm absolutely chuffed to bits," Hooper told Sky Sports 1 after the match. "The preparation in the week was the difference and I'm really pleased. It's a great bunch of lads, great coaching staff and we've just got to keep believing."
