Myall urges fans to get behind team for crucial clash

Young Leeds Carnegie star Kearnan Myall is urging the club's supporters to get behind the team as they look to kick start their fight for survival starting this Sunday with the visit of high flying Bath.
Myall was named the Colin Cramphorn Supporters Player of the Year in the promotion winning campaign last season and there were high expectations that he could make a mark in the top flight this term.
However, a shoulder reconstruction ruled him out for four months but after an appearance off the bench last week he is eager to make up for lost time with a place in the starting line up this Sunday at Headingley Carnegie, kick off 3pm.
Myall will partner Erik Lund in the second row as captain Stuart Hooper returns from injury and will start as a replacement. That will mean that Leeds youngster could be up against England star Danny Grewcock in the Bath line up.
Myall is aware that the team's recent results make it a testing period for the club's fans but he believes that it is now an important time for the supporters to stay behind the team, "I expect it is hard, the fans pay their money and it is disappointing for them when the results don't go our way. But I can't explain how important it is that the fans stick with us, because it really does make a difference and motivates us when they show us their support."
Remarkably, despite their tough season to date, Leeds have still grown their crowds from 5,500 when they were last in the Guinness Premiership to over 8,000 this season and are on course for a club record average attendance this season.
The Huddersfield-born lock was delighted to get back to action last Friday even if the result did not go his sides way. Leeds are now five points adrift of Worcester but with a game in hand on Mike Ruddock's side. Importantly, Myall believes that Leeds fate is still very much within their own hands.
"I was very pleased to get back playing. I have been at the club five years and have never missed a game through injury during that time, so to have four months out of the game has been quite a shock. Everyone was hugely disappointed with the result on Friday and to be perfectly honest the scoreline flattered us. We have worked hard in training this week and we have addressed a lot of the issues that went wrong in the game and will be looking to put them right against Bath."
"The press seem to have us down already but Worcester have played an extra game than us and they are only five points ahead of us. We have ten games left and in our next five games we will play Worcester, Newcastle and Bristol which are all teams we should be looking to get wins against," added the 21-year-old.
Carnegie fans might be a little confused if they missed Myall's return last week and arrive at Headingley Carnegie to see the famous flowing locks in the side again. Myall has returned to action following a major scalp of his trademark blond hair and it even led to some confusion in the dressing room.  "It was something I had been considering for a while, so I went to the hairdressers and asked them to cut it a bit shorter and then after that I decided to have it all completely cut off. I don't think the boys recognised me at first."
