This will be Manchester born player, Phil Nilsen's sixth year at the club and the young star will be hoping to make a big impression on the side this year has he looks to secure a regular place in the first team. When he started at the club he was originally a back rower but he switched to the front row three years ago and has not looked back since. He spent the beginning of last season on loan with Otley but returned to the club to make 5 appearances for the team before an arm injury ruled him out of action. In 2004 he was part of the National Colts Final winning team and in 2005 he helped the Leeds Carnegie team pick up the Yorkshire Senior Cup. He was named in Stuart Lancaster's first senior squad ahead of the 2006-07 season and made his debut for the club in the high pressure game against Cornish Pirates. He was featured in the next two league games, coming on from the bench, before making his first start against Bedford. He marked the occasion with his first try for the club. In total he made three starts and six substitute appearances, with injury hindering his involvement in the first team for long periods of the season.
Phil previously played for Trafford. He has represented Yorkshire 20s, winning the U20's County Championship. He was also part of the National Colts Cup Final winning team.
Phil recently graduated from University of Leeds. His favourite television programme is Heroes. The person he admires most in the game is Neil Black and he supports West Ham United.
