Leeds Career

When Leeds captured the National One trophy in 2007 it was the second consecutive season that Pablo Bouza had achieved this feat, having been part of the Harlequins side who sealed promotion in 2006. A vastly experienced international second row, Pablo joined Leeds as part Stuart Lancaster's rebuilding following the team's relegation the previous season.
His first game came in the disappointing defeat to London Welsh on the opening day of the season, but he was able to take revenge on the side in the return game when he grabbed his first try for the club, to help Leeds to a 38-18 win.  In his debut season he went on to make 17 appearances for the club.  The following season he made his Guinness Premiership debut against Gloucester on the opening day of the season and went onto make a further 11 starts and 10 replacement appearances for the team before announcing his retirement at the end of the season.

Rugby Career

Bouza joined NEC Harlequins in 2005 from Argentinean side Duendes, making his debut in the pre-season friendly against London Irish. He went on to make 16 appearances for Quins and was a key player in their successful cup run. He scored his only try for the side on the last day of the season, when he came on as replacement against Plymouth to ensure the team finished their season on a positive note with a 39-15 victory. He has represented Argentina at Under 19, Student and A level, as well as competing in the Rugby World Cup Sevens in Hong Kong in 1997. He made his international debut against Uruguay in June 1996 and went on to represent Argentina in the 2003 World Cup in Australia, scoring four tries in just two appearances.

He featured in all three Tests in their European tour in 2005 and played alongside club team mate Martin Schusterman when the Argentineans were on the brink of victory at the Millennium Stadium, before a late Jonny Wilkinson penalty earned the Lions a 25-25 draw. Last season he made two substitute appearances for his country in their World Cup qualifying bid. In total he has 50 caps for his country.

Personal Details

Michael Jordan and John Eales are two of Pablo's sporting heroes. His favourite film is Life Is Beautiful, whilst musically he likes listening to Moby, Coldplay and U2. If he could choose an actor to play him in a story about his life he would choose Robert De Niro.
