Leeds Career
After a superb 2006-07 season when he was voted Supporter's Player of the Season, Kearnan followed this up by being as a regular in Leeds Carnegie's side who were competing back in the Guinness Premiership, however frustration followed and the young second rower was forced to miss a large section of the season due to a shoulder injury. He returned to the side after three months and then confirmed his place back in the team for the remainder of the season.
Kearnan began playing rugby with his local sides Holmfirth and Huddersfield YMCA and at just 15 he joined the Leeds Academy, where he continued to develop his game. He has fulfilled this early promise and has grown into an established member of the first team squad.
In the 2006-07 season he was part of the Championship winning squad and scored 6 tries in 29 appearances, a remarkable achievement for his first full season in the senior squad.
Kearnan is one of eight players in the current squad who have come through the clubs Academy system and at still only 21 he expected to have a bright future in the game. Kearnan has been a big part of Leeds Carnegie's success and from the early stages of his career it was evident that he had plenty of potential and would play a key role in the senior squad, having helped the Leeds Academy win the National Colts Cup in April 2004 and in 2006 he was part of the A team who won the Yorkshire Cup.
He made his first team debut in the 2005-06 season, coming on from the bench against Sale Sharks in the Powergen Cup before going onto play a further 3 times that season.

Kearnan was a member of the England U18 Clubs squad which played in the home nations tournament in Belfast in 2004. He has previously played at Huddersfield YMCA and Holmfirth.
