Leeds Career

Originally from Keighley, Andy was educated at Bingley Grammar school, before continuing his studies at Park Lane College in Leeds. He was one of the star performers for the Academy side before being promoted to the senior squad last season. In the Academy he was part of the team who secured the Yorkshire Cup with victory over Wharfedale in 2006.
He made his first team debut in the Powergen Cup against Newcastle at Headingley Carnegie in 2005, whilst his league debut came on the last day of the season against the same opposition. He was named in the starting line up for the first eight games for Leeds Carnegie's 2006-07 National One campaign but he was unable to break through into the side the following season and left the club in 2008 having made ten appearances for the club.

Rugby Career

Prior to signing for Leeds Carnegie Andy played for his hometown club Keighley RUFC, alongside his brother Tom, where the pair were spotted and signed up for Leeds.

Personal Details

The player Andy most admires is Andy Farrell and he credits his Dad and Granddad as having the greatest influence on his career. If he could have a super power it would be to fly. Away from the game Andy enjoys learning new languages and carpentry and when he left school Andy actually worked in steelworks. This season Andy is aiming to continue his rugby education and establish his place in the first team squad.
