Leeds Career

Namibian born, Adam Hopcroft, made his Leeds Carnegie debut in the opening game of last season against Gloucester.  He began that game on the bench but forced his way into the starting line up for the following game against Harlequins.  Over the season he made 3 starts but made the most impact coming on as replacement on nine occasions.
Adam is one of a number of current Leeds players who have joined from Rotherham and during the 2006-07 season he played a key role in aiding the Titans to push Leeds Carnegie all the way at the top of the table.
When he was asked to sign for Leeds Adam showed his commitment to the side by giving up his career as a Mechanical Engineer to focus his energies and make the most of this fantastic opportunity.

Rugby Career

Adam had a taste of top flight rugby when he was part of Bath's Development squad seven years ago. He did not break through to the first team however and from here he joined National Two side Henley Hawks, whom he helped secure promotion with when they finished second behind Penzance and Newlyn. Hopcroft was a regular in the starting line up that season and the next when the Hawks finished a credible 11th in the first season in National One. In his final season he missed just one appearance all season, but was unable to prevent the side's relegation back to Division Two. Adam however had attracted the attention of Rotherham who snapped up the prop for the following season. He made over 50 appearances for the Titans in two seasons, showing his consistency and durability over this period.

Personal Details

Adam was born in Namibia and studied Mechanical Engineering whilst at Bath. At Earth Titans he was able to combine his rugby career with his job at Corus Engineering Steels in Rotherham for the past two years. Although born in Namibia he spent nine years in South Africa before coming to England, where both his parents are from. His favourite film is Remember the Titans and the player he most admires is Jason Leonard.
