Leeds Career

Aaron joined the Tykes in June 2003 on a two-year contract after impressing in that seasons Six Nations Championships. Aaron was seen as a perfect replacement for Scottish international Cameron Mather who had left the Tykes at the end of the 2002-03 season. He spent just one season with the club, which was largely interrupted with international duty. He made 3 starts and 3 appearance off the bench.

Rugby Career

Persico has been capped 32 times and was the star of the Six Nations for the Italians, claiming the Man of the Match prize in their historic win over Wales and was the outstanding player in their second half comeback against England at Twickenham.
The New Zealand-born back-row, qualifies for his adopted country through Italian grandparents. He made his debut for the Azzurri in February 2000 against Scotland in their first ever Six Nations win against the then Championship holders. Aaron has also appeared for Viadana in the Heineken Cup last season when they were placed in the 'Pool of Death' with eventual finalist Perpignan, Gloucester and Munster, when they came within four points of beating the French in Italy.
