Leeds Career
Former Tykes player Diccon Edwards became the club's RFU Academy Manager in 2006. He follows in the footsteps of Director of Rugby Stuart Lancaster, who was promoted to the top job during the summer. Edwards, originally joined the Tykes in 1996 as a player, making 76 appearances for the club over the next four seasons. He was an integral part of the side that climbed up from National Division Three. He joins the coaching set up alongside former Leeds team mates Simon Middleton, Mark Luffman, Colin Stephens and of course Lancaster who all played in the same side between 1997 and 1999.
Rugby Career
Edwards played both codes of rugby with spells at Leicester and Newport before moving to Yorkshire to switch codes and play for Castleford Tigers in 1996. He represented Wales at Rugby League, making one appearances on the wing opposite current Leeds Carnegie Community Marketing Manager John Bentley in 1996. He finished his player career at Wakefield before becoming the RFU's Rugby Development Officer in South Yorkshire.
