How do I get to the ground?

Take M621 - Leave at junction 2, signposted Headingley Carnegie Stadium. Follow the A643 (A58) Wetherby road - at the next roundabout take the City Centre/Wetherby A58 exit. Almost immediately, bear left to Ilkley (A65) and the airport.

At the lights (TGI Friday is on the left), turn left into Kirkstall Road A65. Go straight on for about .75 mile (Yorkshire Television is on the right).

There is a sign at the traffic lights showing "Headingley 1.5 miles." Stay in the right-hand lane. Turn right and go up the hill to another set of traffic lights at the crossroads.

Carry straight on up Cardigan Road (Co-op is on the left). After the pedestrian lights and bus stop turn left into St Michael's Lane, signposted Headingley Stadium. The Ground is on your right-hand side.

The nearest train stations are Burley Park and Headingley which are both within walking distance of the ground.

Can I get married at the ground?

You could have your actual wedding at the world famous Headingley Stadium, our Pavilion has a civil license so that wedding services can take place here at the Stadium. We also offer a special Wedding Package either for services here or to host the reception on your special day.

What are the ground regulations?

  1. The Club Management reserves the right of admission to the Ground.
  2. All matches will be played in accordance with the rules and regulations of The Rugby Football League, Rugby Union and the England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB) and their respective laws of the Game.
  3. Play cannot be guaranteed to take place on any particular day or at any particular time and the respective Club Management reserves the right to change its advertised fixtures without notice.
  4. No refund of any cash admission charge paid at the turnstile will be made.
  5. At the Club Management's discretion, refunds may be made in respect of tickets sold and paid for in advance of a match, where such match is postponed. This is subject to a time limitation, the details of which can be obtained form the Respective Clubs.
  6. The Club Management reserves the right to refuse admission to, or eject from the Ground: 
    1. Any person dressed in a manner, which is (i) considered inappropriate, offensive or distasteful. (ii) Considered dangerous either to their own safety or the safety of other spectators. (iii) Considered an obstruction to the view of other spectators.
    2. Any person who refuses to be searched by any servant or agent of
      The Club.
  7. Fireworks, smoke canisters, knives, bottles, glasses, cans, flags, banners, poles and other similar articles or containers, which might be used as a weapon or missile, are not permitted within the Ground and maybe confiscated.
  8. The throwing of any object within the Ground is strictly forbidden.
  9. It is an offence to use foul and abusive language, obscene chanting or racial abuse. Action will be taken against the individual(s) indulging in such acts.
  10. Unauthorised persons are strictly forbidden from entering upon the field of play, unless advised to do so in an emergency. Individuals entering upon the field of play without permission may be charged with aggravated trespass.
  11. The obstructing of gangways, access ways, exits and entrances, stairways and like places and the standing in seated areas whilst play is in progress is strictly forbidden.
  12. The climbing of floodlight pylons, sand or any other structure within the Ground is strictly forbidden.
  13. Unnecessary noise such as that from the use of radio sets and behaviour likely to cause confusion or annoyance to any person is not permitted in any part of the Ground.
  14. Any person attempting to gain admission to, or being found within, a section of the ground designated for "Members Only" without the appropriate authorisation, may be ejected from the Ground.
  15. With the exception of persons authorised by the Club Management and Press Representatives holding official passes, the taking of photographs, cine photography or video footage inside the ground is prohibited. In addition, recording for Radio, Television or for private purposes, whether for transmission or otherwise, is not permitted save with a special authorisation in writing by the Club Management.
  16. Only persons specifically authorised in writing by the Club Management are permitted to distribute either without charge or offer for sale within the Ground any newspapers, periodicals or any other articles.
  17. Any person found damaging or defacing property within the Stadium will be prosecuted.
  18. Persons failing to comply with instructions from a Steward or other authorised agent of the Club may be ejected from the Ground.
  19. The Stadium Management reserves the right for its servants and agents to remove from this ground, any person who does not comply with these Ground Regulations, the Rules and Regulations of the ECB, RFL and RU or whose presence within the Ground is, or could reasonably be constructed as constituting a source of danger, nuisance or annoyance to any other person.
  20. On all Rugby Events the importation of alcohol is forbidden.
  21. On designated cricket matches the following additional regulations will apply:

    1. West Stand Ticket Holders
      The importation of alcohol, cans or bottles onto the stand will be forbidden and the Stadium Management reserve the right to confiscate any alcohol, cans or bottles. This ban includes any soft drinks or liquids contained in cans or glass bottles.
    2. Other Ticket Holders
      The importation of alcohol is restricted to four cans of beer/larger (per person) or its equivalent. The Stadium Management reserve the right to confiscate any alcohol deemed to be in excess of this limit.

All persons entering the Ground are admitted only subject to their acceptance of the above Ground Regulations. Entry to the Ground is conditional on and will constitute unqualified acceptance of all these rules and regulations.
