Leeds Career

Craig joined Leeds in the summer of 1998 when he returned to Yorkshire after a spell with Gloucester. He has been a virtual every present since then. He was part of the historic dual code Leeds Rugby squad which entered the Middlesex Charity Sevens in August 2000 and has always been amongst the top try scorers every season for the club. In his debut year made 16 appearances and scored a try and it was clear that with his blistering pace and astute handling skills that he would be an important squad member in helping the side fulfil their aim in gaining Premiership Status. In the promotion winning season Craig made 23 appearances in the side and scored 9 tries. He had his best try scoring run that year scoring 5 tries over 3 consecutive games and was part of a losing side on just 3 occasions all season. In the tykes first season in the Premiership he scored a further 3 tries in 17 appearances, with one of these coming in the 37-16 win over Leicester Tigers. In his final season with the club - 2002-03- Craig made 10 appearances and scored his final try for the club against his former team Gloucester.

Rugby Career

He signed for the Tykes from Gloucester where he played alongside Scott Benton. "Emmo" has also appeared for West Hartlepool, Harlequins, Morley and his hometown club of Halifax as well as Gloucester. Craig holds the record for the first player to ever have a transfer fee paid for them when he moved from Morley to Gloucester in 1995 just as professionalism had been passed by the International Board. Craig has now returned to his career as an electrician but can also be found running out with his hometown club Halifax.

Personal Details

Whilst with Leeds Craig's favourite holiday destination was New Zealand, his childhood hero is Phillipe Sella and he rated Jeremy Guscott as his toughest opponent.
