Leeds Career

Centre Chris Jones joined Leeds Carnegie player ahead of the 2005-06 campaign when he returned to Rugby Union from rugby League side St Helens. He made his Leeds debut on the opening day of that season, in the double header at Twickenham against London Irish. He went onto make 21 appearances for the side and put in a heroic display in the win over Bath at the Rec.
Chris stayed with the club for the following season, despite the side losing their relegation battle, however injury meant that Chris was only able to make just thee appearances over the campaign. Cruelly the following summer during preparations for the 2007-08 season Chris suffered another injury, this time dislocating his shoulder, and was forced to announce his retirement from the game. In total Jones made 27 appearances for Leeds.

Rugby Career

Chris previously played for Sale Sharks before moving into Rugby League with his home town club St Helens. Jones had switched to Rugby League this summer at the completion of his contract with the Sharks. Whilst with St Helens Chris played a number of games in the Under 21 team, but it was with Leigh Centurions that Chris made his debut in Super League, having joined them on a months loan. Chris has also played for England U19's and whilst with Sale made 28 appearances for them since the 2003-04 season. He made his Sale debut against Saracens in the 23-39 defeat at Vicarage Road and made his second appearance in the final game of the season against Leeds when he scored a try that helped the Sharks to a 31-20 win at Headingley Carnegie. Whilst with Sale Chris was part of the squad that reached the Powergen Cup Final in 2004 and won the European Challenge Cup in 2005.

Personal Details

Chris' favourite film is Brokeback Mountain and he likes most types of music. He thinks the person best suited to playing him in a film about his life would be Ant McPartlan and he says his greatest achievement is landing a girlfriend!
