
Last night over 120 coaches from clubs and schools from all over Yorkshire attended the Leeds Carnegie Coach The Coaches Master Class Launch event at Headingley Carnegie Stadium. The programme is a new initiative added to the Leeds Carnegie Community Programme 2009-10 available to all coaches at amateur club and school level.
During the first part of the evening Guest Speakers Leeds Carnegie's Director of Rugby Andy and Head Coach Neil Back spoke to the audience on the Principles of Attack and Principles of Defence and Performance Director Steve Nance delivered a session on Developing a Conditioned player. The second part of the evening comprised of an outdoor practical session to observe some of the principles in practice led by the Leeds Carnegie Coaching staff and Leeds Carnegie Players.
Each club and school was given free registration for Bob Dwyer's Rugby Workshop online tool, which some of the Master Class Content was based and which features demonstrations by Leeds Carnegie players.

Commenting on the programme Leeds Rugby's Marketing Executive Helen Saunders, "The Leeds Carnegie Master Class Coaching Programme is a free initiative with the aim of adding a fresh approach to coaching to compliment the foundations already set in place. We are proud of our close relationships with our local amateur and recognise and appreciate the importance of their support and commitment to our club . Our aim is to develop partnerships with our clubs and this is just one initiative put in place to help develop the game at grass routes and to thank our local community for their continued support."
