Leeds Career
Scottish international Andy Craig joined the Tykes from Glasgow Warriors in February 2006. He made his Tykes debut later that month, putting in an impressive display off the bench in the side's win over Bristol. Andy left the Tykes at the end of the 2005-06 season, having made 2 starts and one appearance off the bench.
Rugby Career
At the beginning of the 2005-06 Andy was a first team regular with Glasgow but injury in Bourgoin in the Heineken Cup hindered his progress over the season and when he returned from injury he found himself on the bench. Frustrated at the lack of game time and desperate to play rugby, Lee decided to move on and was released from the final six months of his contract to join the Tykes. Andy's professional playing career actually began in the 13-man code, playing with Wigan, Swinton and Halifax, before making the move into Union, aged 24, with Orrel. Despite being down in National Two, Orrel were professional, aided by Wigan Athletic and Wigan Warriors supremo Dave Whelan and the team had ambitions of reaching the top flight, the move proved to be an inspired one for Andy and one which opened up some brilliant opportunities for the young centre. He helped Orrel win promotion in the 2001-02 season to National One and they were then unlucky not to later qualify for the Premiership. After they lost the backing of Whelan the team disbanded and Andy made the move to Glasgow. By that point, the quick learner had made his mark on the international scene, debuting for Scotland, whom he qualifies for through a paternal grandfather from Aberdeen, on the 2002 tour of North America, featuring in the World Cup in Australia and he now has 23 caps. Tough and pacey, Craig played in all their Six Nations fixtures last season but that injury sustained in France saw him miss the Autumn internationals and has consequently been overlooked by Frank Hadden.
