Leeds Career

Gavin joined the club during the second half of the promotion winning season of 2000-2001. He has been an almost every present since showing great technique and a real desire to constantly push himself. He scored one of the most memorable tries of the season when he scored from 25 metres out in the famous win over Leicester at Headingley. In his final season at the club Gavin made 14 appearnces bringing his career total at the club to 103.

Rugby Career

Gavin Kerr has represented Scotland at U18, U19 and U21 level and competed in the FIRA World Junior Championships when it was held in Italy in 1996. He played his club rugby at Berwick before moving to Jed-Forest at the age of 18. He also represented the Scottish Borders at all age grade levels as well as the senior side for one year. After five years at Riverside Park he moved to Liverpool club Caldy before joining Leeds Tykes halfway through last season, along with Carl Hogg. He came on as a replacement in Scotland A's 40-35 win over Argentina and again in the 6-6 draw with England A and the 30-29 win against Italy A in February 2002. This led to him making his first start in the game against Ireland a fortnight later.
Kerr was an established part of the Scotland squad by then and was an integral part of the 2003 World Cup squad. He was a replacement against Japan in the opening game before starting against the USA to score his first try bringing the 45,000 crowd to its feet with a remarkable try in the 32nd minute when he charged down an attempted kick and outsprinted the cover to dive on the ball and score. He was unfortunate to suffer a neck injury in the following game against France and had to return home. He was then used as a replacement in the 2004 Six Nations. In 2005 he once again joined the Scotland squad to take part in the Six Nations tournament.

Personal Details
