Leeds Career
Simon first arrived at Leeds as a winger and scored 33 tries in 55 appearances between 1997 and 2000. Simon shares the club record for most tries scored in a game with 5 against Morley. He joined the coaching staff on a part time basis under former Director of Rugby Phil Davies however following promotion to the Guinness Premiership he became a full time member of Stuart Lancaster's coaching staff with particular responsibility for the team's defensive structure. He continues his focus on defence now under the new coaching duo of Andy Key and Neil Back, with a newly created position as Defence & Skills Coach.
Rugby Career
Simon played for Knottingley RUFC before moving into Rugby League to join Castleford for the 1991-92 season. He proved to be a prolific player for the side, whom he spent 5 years with before returning to Union with Otley.
Personal Details
During his playing and early coaching career, Simon combined his rugby duties with a career as a Concept Glass Designer before going full time as a coach with Leeds Carnegie in 2007.
